All group classes cost $70 per month. There is a discount available if you take more than one class or have multiple children taking classes.

 

Group Classes 

GUITAR

Beginning Guitar (ages 8 and up). No prior guitar experience required.  Learn to play guitar in a fun group setting.  Student required to provide own instrument.  Acoustic guitar preferred.  No amplifiers for electric guitars allowed. Required guitar book available for purchase at the AIM office.

Continuing Guitar (ages 8 and up). Requirements: Chords: I, IV, V open chord positions in the keys of D, G, A, Em and Am. Note Reading:  Notes on first 3 strings in first position on the guitar and on the music staff. Note Values and Fundamentals:  Staff, meter, sharps and flats, scales, repeat signs, tempo markings, dynamic signs and key signatures. Learn to play guitar in a fun group setting.  Student required to provide own instrument.  Acoustic guitar preferred.  No amplifiers for electric guitars allowed. Required guitar book available for purchase at the AIM office

 

PIANO 

Young Beginners Piano (ages 5-8). Introduction to the wonders of music.  A fun & exciting way for your child to familiarize them with beginning music and piano skills specifically designed for younger students.  Required piano book available for purchase at the AIM office.

Beginning Piano (ages 8 and up). No prior piano experience required.  Learn beginning music and piano skills in a group setting in our custom piano lab complete with headphones for more personal instruction and training. Required piano book available for purchase at the AIM office.

Level I Piano Must have at least 1 year experience and can demonstrate mastery in note values (including quarter note, half note, dotted half note and whole note), know note names ranging from Bass C up to Treble C and be able to distinguish stepwise motion and skips of a third. Required piano book available for purchase at the AIM office.

Level 2 Piano: Must have at least 2 years of experience and can demonstrate mastery in note values (including eighth note, quarter note, half note, dotted half note and while note), know note names ranging from Low C up to High C and be able to distinguish intervals of 2nd , 3rd , 4th, and 5th. Students should also be able to distinguish between staccato and legato notes and dynamics ranging from piano to forte. Required piano book available for purchase at the AIM office

 

ART

Mixed Medium Art Class (ages 6 and up) No prior art experience required. Class will include a variety of fun sculpting projects including working with clay, pottery and other molding and design projects. Pencil and Paper Drawing. Art class that explores all mediums of art & develops your child’s creative thinking.

 

Drama

Beginning Young Actors (K–3rd grades). Bringing classic stories and plays to life while learning basic acting skills, exploring characters, the audition process, rehearsals and performances. 

Intermediate Actors (4th-6th grade). Study of basic acting skills, character development, stage terminology, improvisation as well as preparation for year end production and in class performances mid-year.

Advanced Actors (4th-6th grade). Two prior years of experience with AIM First Drama required. Study of character development, theatre history, stage terminology, mime and improvisation, duet acting as well as preparation for year end production and in class performances mid-year.

Musical Theatre (8 and up). No vocal experience necessary. Study of character development, musical theatre history, basic vocal study and preparation for a year end in-class review of rehearsed musical numbers. Student is responsible for providing dance/jazz shoes.

 

PRIVATE & SEMI PRIVATE INSTRUCTION

AIM First is pleased to offer private instruction in the following disciplines.  All lessons are 30 minutes in length. Student is responsible for providing their own instrument (piano and organ excluded).  Contact the AIM office to find out more about available time slots. Private Instruction is $110 per month & Semi Private Instruction is $90 per month (charges will be prorated for months with more or less than 4 lessons) plus the cost of any required music books. Semi Private Instruction is for 2 students on the same skill level that will receive more individual attention than a group class.
