Sports ministry with a purpose

Our church is proud to offer Upward Basketball and cheerleading for K-6th grade. Sports are a great way for children to learn about teamwork, respect for authority and sportsmanship. The sad part is all those things are being lost in today's sporting society. With Upward, the program is designed to reveal the winner in every child.  The emphasis is placed on having fun and good sportsmanship, not the scoreboard and standings. Every child plays. Every child learns. Every child IS a winner!

The goals of Upward in First Place Ministries are to

• promote character and self-esteem in every child
• provide an evaluation system that promotes equal teams and opportunities
• establish family friendly policy of a one-hour practice and game each week
• allow every child equal playing time
• create the opportunity for every child to learn the skills of the game
• allow each child to connect with God and others
