This series will be the focus for our annual Stewardship campaign which is our chance to commit to the new year of ministry that will soon begin and to enable our church leaders to make wise decisions as we prepare for that new year.

You should have received a packet in the mail which included a booklet outlining how several church members are putting First Things First. This year I want to specifically challenge our entire church to pray about embracing more fully our calling as followers of Christ to put first things first.

As we begin, I want to ask you to do four things:

  1. Take a moment to read through the mailed brochure. You will hear more about our theme for this year and have the chance to read some first-hand accounts of how individuals and families in our church have been transformed by putting first things first.
  2. Commit to being in worship these next four weeks. Being present when the church gathers if part of the commitment we each make to the church and to one another when we join a church family. We gather faithfully to be refreshed, but equally important is our chance to refresh and bless others.
  3. Pray about your financial commitment for 2018. Stephanie and I will be joining you in that. We will be praying about our commitment and I expect God to challenge our family in that! I hope you will share with me an openness to how God's Spirit would lead us in the coming weeks.
  4. Pray for your church. I hope you are already doing this, but I especially want you to do that in these weeks. As we ask God to challenge us individually, we should ask God to do that in our life together as well.

I am more convinced than ever that God has incredible dreams for the future of our church. And I want you to know how committed I am as your pastor to follow Christ's call and direction for that future.

Everything that we do, we do together.

What an immense joy it is to serve and follow Christ with each and every one of you!

Grace & Peace,

Pastor David
