The WMC Food Pantry is a vital part of the financial assistance program at the Mission C.A.R.E. Center. Families who come into our Mission C.A.R.E. Center meet with our C.A.R.E. staff, and a needs assessment is made. Food needs are usually a part of that assessment, and the food pantry provides non-perishable bags to these clients. Volunteers prepare these food bags daily, in order for the staff to distribute to clients in need. In 2010, the Food Pantry gave out over 2,163 bags of groceries to hungry individuals and families.
The Wesley Mission Center Food pantry is supported by-
- Ministries of the First United Methodist Church which includes, Sunday school food drives, the First Faith Preschool food drive, and church member donations.
- The community through Mansfield Independent School District (MISD) school food drives, the US Postal Service annual food drive, and donations from other agencies and Mansfield Chamber of Commerce businesses.
