There are many places to serve at First Methodist Mansfield depending upon your time, talents, and interests.  We are always looking for volunteers who feel called to serve in the following ministry areas:

First Connections

This welcoming ministry reaches out to the visitors and new members of our church. Opportunities are available to serve at all worship services as a door greeter, welcome center volunteer, parking lot greeter and even opportunties that can be completed from home.  For more information, contact .

Worship Arts

“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!”  by leading others in worship through choir, band, orchestra, bells, drama, and praise.  For more information, in these areas contact the following

Small Groups

Communion Preparer and/or Server

Help with preparing the elements for Communion or serve communion at any of our weekend services. For more information, contact .

Ushers and Greeters 

This ministry calls for friendly people with a ready smile and the gift of welcoming to help us greet and direct our many visitors. For more information, contact .

Meals of Love

This group provides meals to families in times of need. For more information, contact .

Building and Grounds Maintenance

Building and grounds volunteer opportunities are available to assist with landscaping, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical needs. For more information, contact .

Administrative Ministry

This ministry has opportunities for volunteers to assist in putting together church-wide mailings, answering phones, keeping pews supplied with consumables, and other clerical duties. For more information, contact .

Kitchen Ministry

This ministry encourages fellowship, community, and hospitality at various FUMC events through our Baking Team, Cooking Team, Décor Team, or Coffee Team. For more information, contact .

Children's Ministry

This ministry calls for volunteers with a passion for God and a love for children. Opportunities range from teaching a Sunday School class, to being a Greeter on the Welcome Team, to helping with Vacation Bible Camp, PRAIZE, and other special events for children throughout the year. First Mansfield Students

This ministry calls for volunteers with a passion for God and youth. Opportunities range from leading a small group, cooking meals, chaperoning events, or simply helping to provide supplies for our weekly programs. For more information, contact .

Wesley Mission Center 

The Wesley Mission Center seeks to exemplify God's love by providing food, clothing, financial and other assistance to those in our community who are in distress. Volunteer opportunities are available in the Care Center, food pantry, and thrift store. For more information, contact .

Angel Tree

The Angel Tree ministry provides Christmas gifts and new clothes to children from low-income families within Mansfield ISD. For more information, contact .

Common Ground

Common Ground is an association of churches and support agencies who work together to coordinate community-wide assistance programs including food drives as well as Christmas and school supply programs. For more information, contact .

English Second Language

Volunteers provide free English classes to people in our community. For more information on our ESL classes contact .

G.R.A.C.E. Homeless Ministry

Volunteers from our G.R.A.C.E. (Giving Respect and Compassion Everywhere) Homeless Ministry periodically go to the streets of downtown Fort Worth to offer food, drink, clothing, fellowship and acceptance. For more information, contact .

Habitat for Humanity

This ministry builds two homes a year for people in need in our community. Volunteers are needed to help with construction, hospitality and food. For more information, contact .

Hands of Christ

Hands of Christ is a ministry of home repair for the elderly and disabled in the Mansfield community. Jobs include building wheelchair ramps, installing handrails, repairing roofs, replacing flooring, windows and screens, painting, and much more!  For more information, contact .

Meals on Wheels

Volunteers deliver lunch meals throughout the week to homebound persons in our community. For more information, contact .

Disaster response

Our church trains early response volunteers for UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief).  These volunteers are able to help lead teams when volunteers are needed after natural or civil disasters. For more information, contact .

Mission Trip Team

People of all talents and gifts are needed for the various mission trips we participate in each year. Opportunities include construction, evangelism, medical, and programs for children and adults in the community. For more information, contact  .

Mexico Ministry Team

Wheels for the World Volunteer

FUMC helps to provide wheelchairs to developing countries around the world.  Volunteers would assist in the organization and transport of wheelchairs.  For more information, contact

Africa Ministry Team

Mission Education Docent

Volunteers are needed to serve at the Mission Connection in the atrium at weekend services.  Volunteers would be knowledgeable in the mission programs of the church and would be available to answer questions, enlist volunteers, and make referrals as needed.  If interested in this position, please contact .
