>> Missions & Service, Missions, Missions

The purpose of Mission Ministries is to exemplify the grace and love of God to our community and our world through Christian love in action.

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8

There are three areas of focus for Missions at First United Methodist Mansfield:

The Wesley Mission Center

Seeks to exemplify God’s love and to reflect the church’s gratitude through Christian faith in action. We light the path to self-sufficiency and resolve problems by providing food, clothing, financial and other assistance to those in our community that are in need or distress.

Mansfield Missions

We are at work in our community and beyond, with ministries that care for the needs of those who are economically distressed, those who feel forgotten or alienated, and those who struggle on the margins, we seek to serve as Christ would serve.

Beyond Mansfield

The call for us to be witnesses to the ends of the earth is not something that we take lightly.  If the kingdom of God is to come to pass, it will be because His people made it so. We seek to transform the world through ministries that take the message and Grace of a loving God beyond our community.

Feed the Kids for Summer - June 9th through August 18th - Help fight childhood hunger -

Our church, through our participation in Comon Ground Network, will once again help with the Feed the Kids for Sumer program.  This community program provides bags of child-friendly food that don't require an oven or stovetop to prepare to children in the MISD who receive meals during the school year through the free and reduced lunch program.  There are several ways you can support this program:

  • On Wednesdays from June 9 through August 18 at 10:00 a.m. or 6:00 p.m., you can help Common Grounds get the bags ready for the seven local food pantries that distribute the bags;
  • You can provide food (List of food) or monetary donations
  • You can volunteer at the Wesley Mission Center Food Pantry to distribute bags on Thursdays and Fridays during the summer.

For more information or to volunteer for Feed the Kids for Summer, contact Phil Stover.  Contact the Wesley Mission Center or call (817) 473-6650 to help with distribution at our Food Pantry.
