Refugee Ministry

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it. Hebrews 13:2

Our church works directly with Refugee Services of Texas to welcome and orient newly arrived refugee families. This includes furnishings for an apartment for the arrival of a family, and continuing to assist them in their first months as they learn English, get jobs, and get acclimated to schools, food, medical care, and customs.

Did you know?

  • There are 59.5 million forcibly displaced people worldwide
  • Fewer that 1% of these people are resettled into a 3rd country
  • More than half of these people are children

On April 26, we welcomed a family of 9 from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Here is Teresa's latest summary on this refugee family.
