In the City 5K and Clean Up

Saturday, April 13, 2013, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Online registration has now closed. You may register by phone through Friday, April 12, by calling Diana Folmar at (817)477-2287 x 217. Race Day registration will open Saturday morning at 7:00 a.m. at Katherine Rose Park.

Co-sponsored by the City of Mansfield and First Methodist Mansfield, the In the City 5K & Cleanup is a one-day event that will help raise awareness of the opportunities for service in our community. Proceeds from the race will go to Trinity Habitat for Humanity and the Wesley Mission Center.

  • 7:00 a.m. - Race registration
  • 8:30 a.m. - One-Mile Fun Run
  • 9:00 a.m. - 5K Race through Linear park
  • 9:45 a.m. - Cleanup check-in at locations begins
  • 10:00 a.m. - Race awards / clean up begins
  • 12:00 p.m. - Hot Dog cookout
  • 1:00 p.m. - Conclusion and thanks

Location: Katherine Rose Park, 303 N. Walnut Creek Drive

We invite the community to arrive early to cheer on the runners. There will be sponsor vendors and activities in the park during the race for kids and families waiting for the park cleanup to begin.

Awards and Age Groups
The 5K will be a timed event with awards given to the overall male and female winners and to the top finishers in each age group:

  • Children ages 0-9
  • Youth ages 10-15
  • Adults ages 15-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 70+

Post Run Activities

After the race, those in our community have the opportunity to help with a city cleanup day of the major parks, ending with a hot dog cookout at Katherine Rose Park and concert featuring Vocal Trash.

Registration

  • Early registration is $25 for an individual runner and $20 for children under age 12. Early registration includes a t-shirt and ends April 3, 2013. 
  • Team registration is $15 for each member of a team. Team registration ends April 3, 2013.
  • Late or race-day registration is $30 for adults and $25 for children under 12. Late or race day registrants will receive shirts as available.

In the City Event Day Volunteers

Proceeds from the race will go to Trinity Habitat for Humanity and the Wesley Mission Center.

Volunteers are needed to help with the races, organize park cleanup, and help with lunch. Everyone is invited and encouraged to help with the G.R.A.C.E. (Giving Respect And Compassion Everywhere) Homeless Ministries each month as our church prepares and delivers lunch and visits with the homeless in Fort Worth’s Unity Park.

We will meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Wesley Mission Center.

Young Married's Small Group (Boehle)

Second Saturday, Fourth Saturday, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM, from 01/12/2013 to 06/14/2014

Attention Saturday night worshipers! Are you looking to better connect with the Saturday night community? Please consider joining a new young married's small group on Saturday night before worship. Led by Chris and Amanda Boehle, this group of young parents will meet two Saturdays a month to study God's word and discuss issues that young parents face as they work to honor God in their parenting and in their marriages. Feed by Grace Banquet
