Please help us serve our friends in Haiti with these needed items.  We will be assembling kits next weekend (January 30-31) in children’s classes.  We are asking each age group to provide certain items on the list to make sure we have enough of everything.  You can purchase as many of each item as you like.  We will have drop-off boxes in every building to leave items.  We will also use our offering in Children’s Ministry next weekend to provide the needed $2 per kit for shipping and perishables.

• 5th and 6th grade − hand towel (15” x 25” up to 17” x 27” − no kitchen towels)
• 3rd and 4th grade − bath-size bar of soap (3 oz. and up)
• 2nd grade − toothbrush (single brushes in original wrapper, no child-size brushes)
• 1st grade − comb (large and sturdy, not pocket-sized)
• Kindergarten − fingernail clippers (no toenail clippers)
• 4-year-olds – washcloth
• 3-year-olds – sealable, plastic storage bag (gallon size)
• Infants & toddlers − adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages

If you choose to make kits at home with your family, please use the following instructions:

Place these items inside a sealed one-gallon plastic bag.

• 1 hand towel (15” x 25” up to 17” x 27” − no kitchen towels)
• 1 washcloth
• 1 comb (large and sturdy, not pocket-sized)
• 1 nail file or fingernail clippers (no emery boards or toenail clippers)
• 1 bath-size bar of soap (3 oz. and up)
• 1 toothbrush (single brushes only in original wrapper, no child-size brushes)
• 6 adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages
• $2 for toothpaste and shipping ($1 will cover the cost of toothpaste because UMCOR is now purchasing toothpaste in bulk to be added to health kits before shipping to ensure that the product does not expire before it is sent. The other dollar will help cover the cost of shipping.)

Important Kit Assembly Information:

• All items included in kits must be NEW items.  All emergency kits are carefully planned to make them usable in the greatest number of situations.  Since strict rules often govern product entry into international countries, it is important that kits contain only the requested items, nothing more.
• Do NOT include any personal notes, additional money or other materials in the kits.  These things must be painstakingly removed and will delay the shipment.
