A Note From Pastor Shea

Dear First Family,

Pastor David and I are excited to continue our Rooted sermon series exploring the early Methodist movement and the extraordinary life and teaching of John Wesley. Pastor David will be preaching all his regular services this weekend except for The Well. For those who may not know, I began preaching live in The Well on December 1, 2018. I would like to thank everyone for being so supportive of me and want to personally invite any and all who do not have a home service to The Well which meets each Sunday at 11:00 am in the Chapel. It’s our intention that The Well continues to grow and stays a vital part of the whole Body of Christ that is First Methodist Church.

Today, I want to tell you about three important opportunities coming up.

Guys Night Out 2019 begins Friday Night March 22nd with one of America’s top Financial Advisors, authors and inspiring Christian leaders Jeff Holler. He is the author of Bigger Than Business: Real-World Stories of Business Owners Living Their Purpose. Come out from 6:30-8:00 pm and enjoy great food and an inspiring message. To purchase your ticket, please click here.

Attention all Fathers and Sons! We will be taking part in a Pure Adventure Father/Son Retreat! Pure Adventure is for boys 10 and up with a dad or mentor. Join us for a full day of paintball, skeet shooting, archery, and other activities. We will have two programs: Engage for boys 10-12 and Equip for young men 13+. Cost is $100 per pair ($50 per person). One day, Saturday only. For more information and to register, please click here.

Coming Soon! A New Teaching Series: What Do I Believe? Join Pastor Mike (yes, that Pastor Mike) and I as we explore what we believe. Ask the questions you have always wanted to ask as we explore the fundamental questions of Christian theology. Please consider reaching out to new people and bring them with you. We’ll start week one of our 8 week series in the Chapel on March 20th at 6:30 pm.

Each of these opportunities expresses our mission to love God, love others, and serve the world. Even though I have not been here long, it is evident that First Methodist Mansfield takes this mission seriously. I am thrilled to partner with you as we continue to grow and live out our mission.

I look forward to seeing you in The Well and around campus this weekend. On behalf of Pastor David, I know he is looking forward to seeing you in worship as we focus on intentional discipleship and staying Rooted.

Grace & Peace in Christ,
Pastor Shea
