A Note From Pastor Shea

A Note From Pastor Shea

Dear First Family,

No new shoes for me this year. One thing I miss about all of the back to school shopping is new shoes for school! I know that day for Max will come faster than Lindsey and I want. As many of you are preparing for the new school year, I want to invite you to join us in worship this weekend as we continue our three-week sermon series on the Book of Jonah.  I’ll be preaching all sanctuary services this weekend and next. If you have not tried The Well, please join Amanda Hardeman at 11:00 in the Chapel. Pastor David will return to preach all sanctuary services on August 24 and 25.

I also want to bring a few other events and needs to your attention:

This weekend is Promotion Weekend! Join us in celebrating the new school year as our children transition into the next grade. The Children’s and Student Ministry staff will be positioned around building A if you need assistance with finding your child’s new classroom location.

The first day of school is a special opportunity to intentionally pray for your children and those who will be playing a major role in their lives. Join us in The Loft on Wednesday, August 14th at 9:15 am for a time of prayer and connecting with other parents and staff. Doors will be open at 9:00 am with a light breakfast and coffee and our large group prayer time will start at 9:15 am. This is open to everybody so please invite those you think would enjoy this space and time for prayer.

WE NEED YOU! Both our Children’s Ministry and United Student Ministries are looking for volunteers. For more information about volunteering to help Children’s Ministry, please contactVictoria Johnson. For United Student Ministries, please contact us at students@fmcm.org

For those of you who will be out of town this weekend, I want to encourage you to worship with us and continue your summer giving online.

I thank God for you and praise Him for your faithfulness to the g
ospel. I look forward to seeing you around campus this weekend.

Grace and Peace in Christ,
Pastor Shea
