A Note From Pastor Sheaby Pastor Shea Reyenga
Dear First Family,
If your family is like mine, then there are many brave men and women who have served or are currently serving in the five branches of our military. My Papaw was an Army Medic for over twenty years and served in the Korean War. His older brother Billy was a POW in World War II captured by the Germans in the Battle of the Bulge. My Uncle Mark also served in the Army right after he graduated high school. With Veteran’s Day upcoming, we remember and honor those who served in the military so that freedom remains a permanent way of American life.
Please read through these opportunities to honor our veterans and join them and their families in ministry:
We want to invite you to join the City of Mansfield and Mansfield ISD at the 3rd Annual Mansfield Veterans Day Parade & Patriotic Salute this Saturday, November 9th at 10:00 am. We are honored to have a float in the parade this year as well as several members of our congregation participating in the parade and salute. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. with a patriotic salute concert at R. L. Anderson immediately after. Please join us in saluting these brave men and women and showing them how much Mansfield appreciates their service and sacrifice.
Did you know that we have a Military Ministry that supports active-duty military, veterans, and their families? If this is you, we would love for you to be part of our Military Ministry team. This team is also collecting contact information for active-duty military and their families. If you have a loved one who is active-duty, please let us know so we can add them to our list. To be part of our Military Ministry or to provide info on a loved one who is in the military, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Mainstage Classic Theater, Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, and First Methodist Church Mansfield present, "I'll Be Home for Christmas: A musical about family and hope in the golden days of radio!" This show will take place on Saturday, November 9th at 7:00 pm and Sunday, November 10th at 2:00 pm at Willie Pigg Auditorium. Tickets may be purchased at the door or online by visiting their website. Proceeds will be given to VETSTART.
Finally, we held a Starting Point gathering this past Wednesday and were blessed to welcome a great group of new members to our church. Their names are listed below. I appreciate you joining me in welcoming them and celebrating their commitment to our church family!
Please join us this weekend in worship as Pastor David and I continue our series, Story. We will study what the man born blind in John 9 teaches us about dealing with others who try and define our story.
I thank God for you and praise Him for your faithfulness to the gospel. I look forward to seeing you around campus this weekend.
Grace and Peace in Christ,
Welcome New Members!
