A Note From Pastor Shea

A Note From Pastor Shea

Dear First Family,

It’s been over a year since Lindsey, Max, and I joined First Methodist. I cannot thank you enough for your grace and hospitality. Having grown up in church my entire life and serving in different roles of leadership, both lay and clergy, I can say with confidence that First Methodist Mansfield is a church that expresses the grace of Jesus Christ and lives out the Gospel in many ways with a generous spirit toward everyone. I am proud to be one of your pastors. For myself and my family, we hope to call First Methodist our church home indefinitely.

It’s out of my faith and love for you that I encourage you and anyone you know who is loosely connected or not connected at all here to take the next step in your faith story and formally join the church. I believe it’s one of the most significant decisions you will make as you formally affirm before God and other members of the church that you are committed to show up and serve the Kingdom of God by praying for the church and all her ministries, by being present in worship, by using your gifts to participate and lead, by volunteering to serve, and by daily following Jesus and showing the beauty and truth of the Gospel to the world.

If now is the time for you or someone you know and would love to take the next step and join First Methodist, please register for Starting Point which is Wednesday, November 6 at 6:30pm. Starting Point is a gathering led by our Senior Pastor. All guests interested in joining the church are invited to learn more about the church, our mission, and what we believe. This is an opportunity to ask questions and meet our pastors and members of our staff. Childcare is available. Please visit our website to register.

Please join us this weekend in worship as we continue our series Story and explore how John 5 teaches us how to move forward in our story. We are all part of God’s redemptive story. That means you have a story worth sharing.

For those of you who will be out of town this weekend, I want to encourage you to worship with us and continue your giving online.

I thank God for you and praise Him for your faithfulness to the gospel. I look forward to seeing you around campus this weekend.

Grace and Peace in Christ,
Pastor Shea
