A Note From Pastor Shea

A Note From Pastor Shea

Dear First Family,

Happy Friday church family! I hope you’ve had a great week. Now, I have some great news and some not so great news to share. Great news is we have had a fantastic response to our upcoming date night with 60 couples registered! Bad news is we have maxed out our space and have closed our registration for this event. I apologize if this has upset your plans. Stay tuned for more information on our Couples Ministry Dinner Club starting in January.

Please join us this weekend in worship as Pastor David and I continue our series Where is God? If this is a season for you to take the next step in your faith journey and serve, or you’ve been intentionally looking for new opportunities to serve and grow deeper, please be mindful of the following:

Are you ready to experience Worship - kids style? Join us this Sunday, October 6th at 5:00 pm in the Sanctuary for Family Experience. Family Experience is a high-energy, crazy-fun, interactive program where all ages learn and experience God together. Parents, grandparents, toddlers, kids, and youth can experience worship side by side. Make plans to join us and bring a  friend!

I want to invite you and your family to stop by the Pumpkin Patch and make plans to help us unload the next shipment of pumpkins on Sunday, October 13th at 12:30 pm. Come out and enjoy the picture-taking opportunities; buy a pumpkin or two; and sign up for a shift to work the patch.  The money raised at the pumpkin patch helps fund our United Student Ministry's summer mission trips. To learn more about what these opportunities look like, I want to invite you to read the email that went out from Andrew Hudson, our Student Ministries Director.

Join the First Methodist Mansfield Artist Gathering Group as they showcase their art at the MISD Center for Performing Arts from October 1-18 with an opening reception on Saturday, October 5 from 6-8 pmThis is a gathering of Christian artists in our church family and community. The Artist Gathering seeks to share the vision God has placed on their hearts through the gift of artistry with those who need connection, encouragement, prayer, and healing. Childcare will not be provided for this event. If you need more information, please contact Chrissy Smith.

For those of you who will be out of town this weekend, I want to encourage you to worship with us and continue your giving online.

I thank God for you and praise Him for your faithfulness to the gospel. I look forward to seeing you around campus this weekend.

Grace and Peace in Christ,
Pastor Shea
