A Note From Pastor David

by Pastor David Alexander
A Note From Pastor David

Dear First Family,

I am looking forward to being back with you after a trip to Big Bend last weekend with many men in our church. In the second message of our current series, Trip of a Lifetime, Pastor Jim and Pastor Shea took you to the Jordan River where Jesus was baptized by John.

We celebrate that in our upcoming weekend services - we actually have six baptisms scheduled which might be a new record for us!

This weekend we will also make a third stop at the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus shared the Sermon on the Mount found in chapters 5-7 in Matthew’s Gospel which we have been reading in our First 15 devotionals this week. If you are unfamiliar with that resource, you can find it here.

I cannot wait to share with you one of the most beautiful places you will find in all of Israel right on the shoreline of the Sea of Galilee.

Here are a few other events I want you to know about happening in the coming days.

  • Tonight is Guys Night Out from 6:30-8:00 pm in the Sanctuary featuring our guest speaker, Jeff Holler, who is one of America’s top Financial Advisors, author and inspiring Christian leader. Come out from 6:30-8:00 pm and enjoy some great food, an inspiring message, and a time focused on empowering men to Live Right and Lead Well. You can purchase a ticket online or at the door.
  • Sunday afternoon at 3:00 pm in our Atrium, we will be having a gathering for Christian Artists within our church led by Jacy Kennedy, Patti Wilkinson, and Doug Peak who is doing a painting for each of our stops in our current series. If you are interested in hearing more and engaging in a conversation about how your artistic gifts might bring healing and hope to others, this gathering is for you! For more information, contact Pastor Sharon.
  • At 4:00 pm this Sunday in our Gym we will be having Spark Family Adventure. This special, one-hour LEGO THEMED event is designed specifically for preschoolers (2-5 years) and their families. Best of all, it is free! Registration is requested on our website.

One final and important note…

We will once again have yard signs you can pick up to help spread the word about our upcoming Easter services. We would love for you to grab one of those to extend that invitation to our community and your neighborhood. Those are free for you to take.  If you would like to make a $10 donation to further extend our reach and invitation, you can do so here.

I am loading up my backpack for the next stop on our Trip of a Lifetime!  We look forward to seeing you this weekend!

Grace & Peace,

Pastor David
