A Note From Pastor David

Dear First Family,

It’s a big, big weekend for us so today I want to jump right in!

First, tonight at 6:30 p.m. we are having Guys Night Out! Beau Glenn, founder of Father & Son Connection ministries will be our special guest and I want to encourage all our men to make every effort to be there to hear Beau. We had dinner last week and you are not going to want to miss hearing his story. $20 gets you dinner and your name in the hat for some great giveaways and you can register at the door. Everything we do at Guys Night out is about inspiring men to live right and lead well.

This Sunday at 4:00 pm in our Gym space, our Children’s Ministry will be offering Spark Family Adventure. This one-hour free event, specifically designed for families with children ages 2yrs - kindergarten, will include time to worship, play and learn together as a family. Registration is required so we can be ready for your family.

If you having been visiting our church and are interested in learning more about making a membership commitment to First Methodist Mansfield, join me at Starting Point this Sunday at 5:00 pm right outside our main Sanctuary. This informal gathering provides a chance for you to meet our pastors, engage with members of our staff, hear more about the ministries of our church and what it means to commit to membership in our faith family.  For more information, contact Amy Jeter or to register your attendance, please click here.

And finally, we are having a Group Launch event this Sunday at 6:00 p.m. for anyone who is looking to connect with a small group this Fall. This event will also take place in the Atrium outside our main Sanctuary. You can register for Group Launch here or join us on Sunday night to learn more about getting connected into the life-changing relationships available in a small group.

Today I also want to make note that Thursday, September 20th is North Texas Giving Day. In our area, this annual event encourages financial support of the many incredible non-profit organizations servicing the North Texas Area.

At 8:30 am on Wednesday, September 19th, the Mansfield Mission Center will be hosting a “movie premiere” at Farr Best Theatre to highlight the work of this incredible organization. I hope you will think about being a part of that event and making a donation this week in support of the Mansfield Mission Center.

For more information, you can visit their website or check out this short video which highlights the great work the Mansfield Mission Center is doing in our local community.

And by the way…. We will be having the six worship services this weekend as well! I hope to see you there! It’s a big weekend!

Grace & Peace,

Pastor David
