A Note From Pastor Davidby Pastor David Alexander
Dear First Family,
Yesterday morning I had the honor and joy of attending the Ribbon Cutting event for the new Mansfield Mission Center. Over 150 leaders from our community were present. On your behalf, I had the chance to hear from many, including Mayor David Cook, who shared his great appreciation to First United Methodist Church for giving birth to the Wesley Mission Center more than 38 years ago.
Today I want you to hear how grateful our city leaders, our School District and other local churches in our community are to you for the new chapter that has now begun in this incredible ministry that is now seen as THE Mission Center for the entire Mansfield community.
As you know, we will be having a Church Conference next Sunday, May 20th immediately following our 11 am worship services. For those who regularly attend worship on Saturday Night or at the 8:15 or 9:30 hour, you can plan to arrive around 12:15 pm.
If you have not already, please do two things in preparation for this important gathering.
- Download and review the Case Statement that outlines the plans developed by our Building Planning Team.
- Take this confidential survey to help us determine the readiness of our church family to take these next steps. The deadline for participating is this coming Monday, May 14th!
You can find additional answers to some of the frequently asked questions about these next steps by visiting, the What's Next page.
Also, the second IF: Table gathering for ladies will be on Tuesday, May 15th at 6:30 pm in the Loft.IF: Table Groups are designed for women to gather around a table once a month and create a place of belonging— a place where women feel known. These gatherings provide an environment for a conversation about following Jesus and sharing God’s grace with others throughout our lives. To register, visit the website or email Refresh for more information.
Finally today, I hope you will be in worship this weekend as we begin our next message series,Mothers, Fathers, and Mentors. As the school year comes to a close and we celebrate Mother’s Day this weekend, we will spend the final weeks of May looking at the power of three of the most important relationships in all our lives.
I look forward to seeing you at one of our worship gatherings this weekend!
Grace & Peace,
