A Note From Pastor David

by Pastor David Alexander
A Note From Pastor David

Dear First Family,

There is much coming up in the next week that I want you to know about. Let me dive right in!

We have several Q&A sessions coming up regarding the building plans I shared at our Town Hall last Sunday. If you missed that presentation, you can find that on our website at www.fmcm.org/whatsnext.

On Sunday, April 29th and Sunday, May 6th at 3:00 pm in our Chapel, we will have two more Q&A sessions for any and all who would like to discuss further the work that our building planning team has done to prepare us for the future.

Note that on Sunday, May 20th, immediately following the 11:00 am services, we will be having a Church Conference in our main Sanctuary to take action on the plans developed by our lay leadership teams. All are welcome and all members may vote.

In all services this weekend, we will be presenting Bibles to all Second Graders. All second graders are invited to meet with the Children's Ministry staff before each service and to join their family in worship to receive this special gift! For more information, please contact Andrea Roberts.

Our United Methodist Women are selling live mums in celebration of Mothers’ Day. These plants will be placed in all of our worship services on May 12th & 13th. The cost is $15 each, with all proceeds benefiting Feed the Kids for Summer and Metroplex Women's Clinic. Deadline for online purchase is May 6th. For online purchases, please visit our website. For more information, contact Barbara Kesner.

This Sunday at 4:00 pm in the Gym, you and your family are invited to Spark Family Adventure. Spark is a special event designed for preschoolers and their families! You will sing together, use clues to figure out what the BIG NEWS is, decorate a megaphone and so much MORE! For more information and to register visit our website. Contact Jennifer Redmond with any questions.

National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 3rd. Join Pastor Tina on the steps of City Hall at 12:30 pm and 1:00 pm for a time of prayer. Also at 6:30 pm on the east lawn of the Mansfield Center for Performing Arts, pastors and city leaders will guide everyone with prayers for our community, leaders, and nation. Contact Pastor Tina Schramme with any questions.

Our first Couples Date Night is next Friday, May 4h from 6:30-8:30 pm in Room A221/222. Enjoy getting to know other couples, sharing a meal, seeing real-life stories of the ups and downs of marriage, and being inspired to strengthen your own relationship. $30/couple includes a meal, entertainment, and childcare. Contact the Couple's Ministry at couplesministry@fmcm.org with questions.

And finally, we were honored to welcome some new members to our church family at our Starting Point gathering last Wednesday. You see their names listed below. Please join me in giving them a warm First Methodist welcome!

I look forward to seeing you this weekend as we continue to ask this critical question, What’s Next?

Grace & Peace,

Pastor David
