A Note From Pastor David

Dear First Family,

I’m writing you from the terminal at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. We have had a wonderful pilgrimage to the Holy Land, but we are all excited to be heading home to Texas. In the coming weeks, I look forward to sharing more with you about our experience as we continue our journey through this Lenten season and our series, The Witness of Mark.

In addition to all our weekend worship opportunities, I want you to be aware of these events coming up in the next week!

First Faith Preschool and Kindergarten will be hosting their first community-wide Tot Trot this Saturday, March 3rd at Rose Park. The morning will kick off with a One-Mile Fun Run at 8:30 amimmediately followed by a 5K Run on the linear trail at 9:00 am. To register and view packet pick-up information along with race times, visit the website or forward all questions to Brittni Blevins.

This Sunday at 5:00 pm in our Sanctuary, we will be having March Madness Family Experience. The theme is centered around finding peace in the everyday madness of our lives. We will have worship, skits, a Bible message and games followed by a family dance in the gym. One lucky family will win 4 tickets to a Dallas Mavericks game!! For additional information, please contact Andrea Roberts. All ages of children are welcome and we encourage you to bring your whole family.

If you are being called to take the next step and serve within the church, I would like to invite you to join us for the next session of Serving @ First. Class options are Sunday, March 4 at 5:00 pm or Tuesday, March 6th at 10:00 am.  This one-hour class prepares you to serve, teaches the basics of our church's mission, and provides Safe Sanctuary training. Following the class, those seeking a place to serve will receive guidance for next steps. You may register for the class on our website.

Finally, if you have been thinking about making a membership commitment to our church family, I hope you will be a part of Starting Point this Wednesday, March 7th at 6:30 pm in our Chapel. At Starting Point we share the mission, vision and values of our church, what it means to commit to membership, and offer each participant a chance to make that commitment as well. I would love to welcome you officially to our faith family. Childcare is available. Register on the website or contact Amy Jeter with questions.

It has been a great joy to lead my third trip here to the Holy Land. I am honored to be a part of experiences like these where lives are deeply enriched and faith grows. In a church like ours, it is an everyday experience!

Shalom from Israel. I will see you soon.
