A Note From Pastor David

Dear First Family,

Welcome to the final month of 2017 and to the season where we journey together to our celebration of the Perfect Gift of Christmas.

Our holiday events are already in full swing starting this weekend. Let me share just a few highlights to help you prepare!

  • Angel Tree gift return is this weekend! If you would like to help receive, sort or distribute these Christmas blessings, we would love your help! You can sign up to help by visiting ourwebsite or contacting Vicky Hale with any questions you might have.
  • This is the last weekend to purchase a Poinsettia in memory or honor of a friend or loved one. Proceeds from this United Methodist Women project benefit the Methodist Children’s Home and United Community Centers. To order poinsettias online, visit our website.
  • This Sunday at 2:00 pm in our Chapel we will have our Annual Remembrance Service. This service is for families who have lost a loved one and wish to honor those cherished relationships. You are welcome to bring a picture of your loved one, share an ornament to hang on our remembrance tree, and during this service, there will be an opportunity to light a candle in memory of your loved one.
  • At 4:00 pm in our Gym this Sunday we will have our next Spark Family Adventure with a Happy Birthday Jesus Pajama Party. This special one-hour free event is designed especially for preschoolers (2yr-Kinder) and their families to participate in special crafts, games, and learn all about the night Jesus was born. We also will be collecting new stuffed teddy bears to be donated to Cook Children’s Prayer Bear Ministry.

And alongside all of those wonderful activities, you have six opportunities to be in worship as we continue our Christmas series, The Perfect Gift. I look forward to sharing the second message of this series with you this weekend.

So let’s begin our final month together on the right foot by gathering again this weekend to remember and to celebrate what is truly holy about this special holiday season!

Grace & Peace,

Pastor David
