A Note From Pastor David

A Note From Pastor David

Dear First Family,

It is a big weekend for our church and for our local community. I want to start by telling you about a brand new opportunity happening this weekend here in Mansfield.

On Saturday, Mansfield will have it’s very first Veterans Day Parade. Festivities will kick off at 10:00 am and the Parade will culminate with a Veterans Day Salute at R.L. Anderson Stadium. Our Chancel Choir will be a part of this final piece of our City’s salute to our Veterans. For a map of the parade route, please visit here.

In all of our weekend services, we will be sharing the final message in our First Things First series. At the conclusion of each gathering, you will have the opportunity to bring your 2018 Estimate of Giving Card to one of our “first fruit” baskets as we together commit to our mission and ministry in 2018. I want to tell you in advance how grateful I am for your participation which enables our leaders to ensure that our shared sacrifice goes as far as it can to build God’s Kingdom in 2018.

And on Sunday night, we will cap off a great weekend with a Veterans Day Concert in our Sanctuary at 6:00 pm featuring our Chancel Choir, Orchestra, and Jubilate Community Children's Choir along with a few special guests. As we honor the Veterans from all branches of our Armed Services, we will take a look back at the history of our country and the sacrifice that has been made for our continued freedom. For more information, please contact Beth LaMee.

Finally today, I want to remind all our ladies about our Women’s Night of Prayer which will take place on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm in the Loft. Childcare is available with your registration. Contact Leanne Johnston to register for childcare and if you need more information.

It is a full weekend and I hope that you will be a part of all of these special opportunities.

As I shared with you on Wednesday, one of the ways that I believe we can support our brothers and sisters in Sutherland Springs who continue to grieve the tragic shooting last Sunday is to be in worship this weekend.

We are people of faith, not fear. I look forward to affirming this truth again with you this weekend.

Grace & Peace,

Pastor David
