Global Impact

Through our World Impact Ministries, we partner with organizations and groups to make a positive impact in our world. In our partnerships and missions trips with ZOE Empowers and Allies in Youth Development, we equip orphans in Rwanda, India, Russia and Eastern Europe with tools and training to overcome life-threatening poverty for good. Our partnership with UMCOR supports missionaries in Africa and Mexico and provides resources for urgent needs throughout our world. We partner with many other groups and organizations to share the love of God and make a positive impact throughout the world.

Zoe Empowers 2023 Annual Review

Pray for our ZOE India Empowerment Groups

ZOE Empowers Ministry transforms the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children from poverty and neglect to self-sufficiency and community within three years. This happens through Education, Encouragement, and Advocacy. We celebrate these two groups that graduated in June 2020.

  • The Best of Future group includes 37 households with 56 total children.
  • The Everything is Possible group includes 38 households with 86 total children.

When these children first joined the ZOE India program they had been living in extreme poverty and instability . Many had been living with a caregiver who shared their shelter but could not provide adequate food, education, health care or other support that children need.

ZOE Orphan Empowerment Ministry – Rwanda and India

First Methodist is a ZOE Hope Companion, sponsoring 1000 children every 3 years on their journey out of poverty. Over the past six years, we have sponsored over 2000 children in Rwanda who are now self-sufficient. Our ZOE class of 2016-2018 includes children in three countries.

The news coming from Turkey and Syria are heartbreaking. Our hearts and prayers remain with the survivors and rescue workers even as the death toll continues to rise. We support the work that UMCOR continues to do along with their partners on the ground in the effected area. Watch the video for an update on UMCOR’s initial response to the devastating earthquakes.

If you would like to financially support them, we encourage you to use the blue donate button and give to UMCOR below.

Donate to UMCOR

The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is a non-profit, global mission organization dedicated to alleviating human suffering wherever needed throughout the world. UMCOR’s work includes programs and projects in disaster response, health, sustainable agriculture, food security, relief supplies, and more.

Through financial donations as well as donation of relief kits, support from our church helps fund the ongoing work of UMCOR. We also send teams each year to serve at UMCOR Sager Brown in Baldwin, Louisiana. Sager Brown is the relief supplies processing and distribution site for every corner of the world.

Allies in Youth Development, based right here in Mansfield, Texas, sponsors orphans in over 70 orphanages around the world. They are connected in more than 15 cities throughout Ukraine, as well as Eastern Europe, and the world.

During this troubling time, their priorities continue to be the safety and welfare of the children and youth in their care, many of whom are special needs. They have also added goals of helping with shelter for some 400 families in a refugee camp, elderly care in the region, and Moldova and neighboring countries that are in desperate need of support.

You can help by donating below as they are able to access our donations to make an immediate impact on their efforts.
